Partner 1 - Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de
Lausanne (EPFL), is one of the two
Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology. The
group for thin films and MEMS devices inside the
Ceramics Laboratory is
co-ordinating the 3D-DEMO project. The group
has accomplished pioneering work in
Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 and AlN thin film devices. The
Nano-structuring Research
Group inside the Advanced Photonics
Laboratory focuses on micro and
nano-structuring of substrates/thin films and
functional materials.
Partner 2 - ABCD Technology is a
newly incorporated start-up (2005) that has
developed a unique deposition technique. ABCD's
visionary approach and its ability to anticipate
the emerging needs of research and industry has
led to ABCD Laser-Assisted Chemical Beam Epitaxy
(LA-CBE) technique. Deep understanding of the
involved processes and its ability to master all
the deposition parameters individually will make
of ABCD a key player in the field of oxides thin
film deposition.
Partner 3 - SCIPROM is a young
Swiss company that supports researchers in
European and National projects, networks, and
research consortia. SCIPROM helps with or takes
over project construction, submission,
negotiation, execution and management.
Partner 4 - SAFC Hitech
manufactures a wide range of high purity
precursors used across the semiconductor,
electronic and optoelectronic industries. SAFC
Hitech's strong R&D background ensures that
the product ranges available include chemicals
to meet both current and future customer
demands. Working with world leading groups,
novel materials systems continue to be developed
to meet industry roadmaps. Coupled with our
innovative precursor delivery and monitoring
systems SAFC Hitech is acknowledged as at the
forefront of precursor technology and a leading
provider of comprehensive product supply
packages.
Partner 5 - SAES Getters S.p.A.
is the world leader in getter products and
vacuum technology, headquartered in Milan and
with a worldwide manufacturing and commercial
presence. SAES Getters Group’s vision is
to be the leading global supplier of advanced
materials to niche markets characterized by high
growth potential in the high-tech business
segments, through the exploitation of our
proprietary core competences in special
metallurgy and material science technologies.
Partner 6 - National Institute for Lasers,
Plasma and Radiation Physics, Laser
Department concentrates on laser processing of
materials, with application in thin films with
functional properties deposition by laser
ablation and radiofrequency beam assisted laser
ablation. The Photonic
Processing of Advanced Materials Group
lead by Maria Dinescu has a fully equipped
laser-plasma laboratory and Analytical
laboratories (Atomic Force Microscope,
Precision Impedance Analyzer, UV-VIS
Spectrometer, X ray diffractometer).
Partner 7 - Centre national de la recherche
scientifique
(CNRS), FEMTO-ST (Franche-Comté
Electronique Mecanique Thermique et Optique
– Sciences et Technologies) is a
CNRS laboratory (UMR 6174) under trusteeship
of the CNRS, University of Franche-Comté Ecole
Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et de
Microtechniques, and Technology University of
Belfort-Montbéliard. The nano-optics and near
field group is one of the four groups that
constitute the Optics Department at the
institute FEMTO-ST in Besançon.
Partner 8 - University of
Southampton, Optoelectronics Research Centre
(ORC) has been a major contributor to
advances in laser and optical fibre technology
for the past 35 years, and has pioneered the
development of a wide range of novel laser
configurations, optical fibre and waveguide
types and fabrication techniques.
